About Sophia
I am a Unitarian Universalist minister and chaplain whose ministry is rooted in belonging, curiosity, and the steady work of showing up for one another.
I currently serve part-time as Assistant Minister at the First Parish in Cambridge and part-time as a hospital chaplain at Boston Medical Center Brighton.

I was raised Unitarian Universalist in Silver Spring, MD, where early experiences of grief, ritual, and the natural world shaped my sense of the sacred. Over time, that early formation grew into a call to ministry through relationships with congregations, patients, youth, young adults, and elders, each of whom taught me something about what it means to belong.

My ministry brings together pastoral depth, theological curiosity, and a collaborative leadership style. I care deeply about how faith communities respond to anxiety and change, and I strive to meet them where they are so we can find the way forward together, because communities rooted in belonging should also be places of joy.

I seek to build lasting relationships, nurture vibrant worship and shared leadership, and grow alongside a congregation committed to a courageous Love.

I live in Boston with my wonderful spouse, James, and find grounding through trail running, chanting, listening to music, and spending time with our two perfectly silly cats.
